ALBUM REVIEW: “Neuro.B — Electrodump”

Italian rapper, composer and producer, Neuro.B’s  2019 “Electrodump” album is an alternative hip-hop/Rap project tinged with low key electronic vibes. Neuro.b(Roberto Reale) is also the founder of Blekkett Records.Songs on the “Electrodump” album are invariably imbued with powerful and meaningful lyrics.  The album centers on inner conflict, depression, pain, love and pure bliss. The story behind this album creation and production process is interesting and inspiring. With an old computer, He recorded, produced and recorded all the songs on the album. 

“The Plot” is the opener on the album. The instrumentation of this song tuneful and melodic. The beat  has ringing electronic elements and dope drum lines,giving the track a dope electro-hiphop vibe. Neuro.B raps and sings in a raspy voice — infectious!“ Upside Down” is the second track on the album. It opens with a violin-like tune splashed with background melodic tones. “ I was like upside down, like earth was on top of me — was upside down” Neuro.b utters, ushering as into his world of touching but truthful lyrics. “Underneath” is also a lovely tune,very addictive!”The River” is the last song on the album, and I think it’s my favorite piece in there. It’s a mellow trip-hop song plagued with synths and other computer generated sounds  that create an spooky-cool sphere. 

The airy atmospherics and wobbling blasts of synths draw you into his wonderfully dreamlike track.He sings in a low raspy voice, and it reminds me of Tricky. His voice is haunting. “ I’m walking down a thousand miles, feeling the pain under my skin just to see you smile again..look  into this river, see how it flows away”, this poetic lyrics drift you into an alternate universe. The track takes on a warm and soothing vibe that will make you feel like you’re sprawled out in space. Coming it at just over 2:07 minutes in length, there is no room left for filler, just bliss.
