ALBUM REVIEW: B4bonah — “B4Beginning”

ALBUM REVIEW: B4bonah — “B4Beginning”
 Aug 3, 2019

B4bonah is a Ghanaian musician/rapper who is making a name for himself with his infectious tunes and heartfelt lyrics.

B4bonah teams up with Amaarae, Ivy Sole, Blackway, Mugeez, R2bees, Medikal and Young Guwapo for his debut album “B4Beginning”. I feel he wants to increase his momentum  with his new project. The album’s title and artsy cover art are perfect — it can easily capture the consumer’s eye!

I’ve been listening to this album for hours, and in the usual review fashion: no skipping, no fast-forwarding, no rewinding, and not stopping. Each song receives my honest reaction from start to finish, but I’m going to summarize my thoughts. “B4Beginning” has a definitive vision and honest message that ooze effortlessly when you listen to it. The album thrusts B4bonah into the limelight, causing the listeners to suddenly become aware of his artistic range. The album is plagued by positive vibes, reflective auras, playful lines, melodic endeavors, anthems for haters and everything in between. The lyrics are honest, totally relatable, heartfelt and raw, which adds to the album’s charm. The soundscape on this album is impressive — it blends hiphop vibes with African-inspired rhythms.

I love all the songs on the Album, but my favorite is “4U”. This song features Ivy Sole. “4U” is a sparkling slow-Jam perfection that you can’t help but become lost in. Ivy Sole cool vocals glides over an intoxicating beat with Afro-inspired drum lines.  B4bonah’s vocals completely compliment hers. Beautifully. It’s a well-crafted album that you won’t get out of your head, and I’m very much into it! Be sure to keep checking out B4bonah’s Instagram to see what he releases next! And don’t forget to come back here for even more awesome new music.
